Workplace support

The Workplace Quit Smoking Program is for Queensland workplaces with workers in blue collar occupations who smoke and are interested in stopping. The program is free and is a good opportunity to support workers to quit smoking.

The program combines the use of behavioural counselling (delivered by the Quitline service) with nicotine replacement products such as patches, gum and lozenges.

Benefits for others

Partners, spouses and family members who live with a worker participating in the program can join, as well as other employees within your organisation.

Benefits to your workplace

  • increase in productivity
  • decrease in absenteeism
  • decrease in rates of illness and injury
  • reduce the exposure of tobacco smoking to non-smoking workers.

Is my workplace eligible?

The program is available to organisations that employ workers in the following occupation groups:

  • technicians
  • trades (e.g. plumbers, electricians, carpenters, sheet metal workers, mechanics)
  • labourers
  • machine operators
  • drivers
  • child care workers
  • non-government health and welfare support workers.

How to get started
